- Broken Base: The Incredible Machine proved to be a very divisive album. Critics and fans alike are pretty much split between saying that the album's awesome or horrible, with very few in-betweens. Most of the haters dislike the more pop-oriented sound and lightweight lyrics.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: Much of their musical career seems to have taken a backseat to the Indiana State Fair stage collapse.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: "Babe" sounds more like a mid-transition Taylor Swift song (probably because it is), whilst the video is basically the same as Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One".
- Win Back the Crowd: Zig-zagged. While Bigger got largely positive reviews especially compared to the divisive The Incredible Machine, the singles performed atrociously on the charts and discussion of the album was largely colored by the Indiana State Fair incident.
