• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Do SpongeBob and Sandy genuinely praise Squidward's strategies (e.g. trying to storm off so they'll say his name and declaring himself “Automatic Winner”) or are they appealing to his ego so he won’t spoil things for everyone?
  • Is Patrick’s overly unfair treatment of Squidward during the game just him being oblivious and making things up as he goes along, or is it passive-aggressive payback? Notice how he immediately moves the activity outside when Squidward tries to bail a second time, and how he throws Squidward under the bus when the latter smashes up his game.
• Broken Base: Patrick! The Game. Most people enjoyed it for the fun, creative plot. Others didn’t really like it as much because it’s a Squidward abuse episode, even though he at least bought it upon himself. Some other people think that the episode had a good plot that was heavily overshadowed by Squidward being a Butt-Monkey for the most part.
• Nausea Fuel: The sea monster throwing up after SpongeBob and Squidward run around its throat in the Sewers of Bikini Bottom.
• They Really Can Act: Just listen to Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke and Carolyn Lawrence in Patrick! The Game. Specifically their giggling. It’s adorable. It doesn’t feel like three actors standing in a room recording their lines. It feels like three close friends having genuine fun together.
