- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The boys encountering Mr. Garrison snorkelling in the sewers, who then swims off after asking if they know how to file a police report. It has no impact on the plot and is never acknowledged again after it happens.
- Crosses the Line Twice: When Kenny is killed by being trampled by a crowd of moviegoers exiting the theater, one of the moviegoers picks up a penny off the ground, where he and his friend say a variation of Stan and Kyle's lines revolving around the penny, ignoring the fact that a child was just trampled to death.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: When trailers for Brokeback Mountain came out, jokes began surfacing from fans over whether or not Ennis and Jack would have a scene where they eat pudding. Even Trey Parker and Matt Stone made a comment on it.Matt Stone: If they eat pudding together at any point in the movie, I'm gonna lose it.
