YMMV / South Park S 25 E 6 Credigree Weed St Patricks Day Special

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor: Seeing Randy get arrested, thrown in jail, and having his weed thrown away was a satisfying sight in the eyes of some fans who were tired of Randy's antics since he bought Tegridy Farms.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Butters' public defender is quite popular despite only showing up in one scene, if only because she's such an attractive woman that she's one of the few characters in this show that could count as a Ms. Fanservice.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Cartman is shown to not like St. Patrick's Day, an Irish holiday where you have to wear green or risk getting pinched. His ex-girlfriend, Heidi Turner, is of Irish decent and always wears a green coat. It could be possible that Cartman dislikes the holiday because it reminds him of Heidi.
  • Offending the Creator's Own: Matt & Trey are Irish-Americans.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: Several pieces of background music sound extremely close to "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," surprisingly as South Park is no stranger to using licensed songs, even as recently as the previous episode.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Cartman's apathetic attitude during the episode makes it clear that he dislikes St. Patrick's day, but he doesn't do much other than carry a cake with weed inside with the other boys. Cartman's reaction towards St. Patrick's day getting cancelled isn't shown either.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Butters being taken to court on sexual assault charges just for pinching a classmate does sound like something out of a South Park episode, but the opportunity disappears the moment Butters pinches his lawyer for not wearing green and she slaps him and chooses not to represent him in court out of disgust. It may be because a lot of kids already went to court for sexual harassment years ago.
  • The Woobie: Butters, as usual. He gets in a ridiculous amount of trouble just for pinching people as part of a St Patrick's Day tradition.
