YMMV / Red Dwarf Season VII "Tikka to Ride"

Go To

  • First Installment Wins: This is generally considered the strongest episode of the post-Grant Naylor but pre-Dave era, albeit with close competition from the following episode.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: In early episodes of the show, the Cat had such a lack of empathy that he had to be persuaded to just take Lister to sickbay when he fell ill. Here, the Cat shows true grief and disgust with himself when he learns that he's been eating a human being he never even knew personally, showing how the Cat has come to identify with Lister and even consider cats and humans equal (or at least worthy of remorse and consideration).
  • He Really Can Act: The intro was a pretty big one for Craig Charles according to the DVD Commentary. Shortly before the scene was recorded, he was sheepishly approached with a rather long bit of scene. According to his costars, he read it once, lost it, trod on it, then went out and did the whole scene in one take, getting a round of applause from the set crew.
  • Woolseyism: In the Czech dub, Kryten's reference to "Bye Bye Baby" by the Bay City Rollers became one to "Jsi moje máma" by the Czech boy band Lunetic.
