• Unexpected Character: With Magnemite being the main focus of the episode and much of the plot revolves around its attraction to Pikachu, viewers were caught by surprise when Ash throws a Poké Ball at Muk and captures it instead. Muk is immediately sent to Professor Oak, but it plays major roles in future episodes yet to come.
