• Ensemble Dark Horse: Adiel, the villainous Scizor, is a fan favorite despite how rarely he appears or speaks.
• Heartwarming Moments: Following the ending of the Temporal Tower arc, where Team Ember attacked Lily and Prince, Lily is mad at Char, especially for having the Silver Flame (which Prince passed to him), which is a modified Fiery Globe from the Explorer games that protects against Rock instead of Water. Char eventually manages to apologize by giving her a Soothe Globe, which makes Grass-types immune to fire damage.
• Narm: Char losing his arm to a wild Scyther? Tragic. His repeated screams of "MY ARM!"? Not so much.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The Watchers, especially considering Scythe's and Saura's mental scarring after their encounters. And let's not forget poor Zona, who eventually winds up in his Black Bug Room because of these things. The reveal that The Master used the watchers to manipulate Team Ember into going to Temporal Tower as part of his evil plan doesn't help.
  • Marrow knows Fissure. As it turns out, it doesn't open a chasm under an enemy so the enemy falls in, it makes the enemy explode.
• Player Punch: Scythe abandoning Team Ember as they are leaving Temporal Tower. Even though this slightly alleviated a few chapters later, it's still heart-breaking to see.
