YMMV / Noroi: The Curse

• Base-Breaking Character: Hori. He's either very vital to the plot or very obnoxious with his screaming and freak outs.
• Fridge Brilliance: Some viewers wondered by Marika and Miyajima weren't affected by the curse afterwards, but it does make sense they weren't due to the fact Kobayashi and Hori disturbed Kagutaba's shrine while the former two were completely far away from it.
• Fridge Logic:
  • In the final scene, when Hori is attacking Kobayashi's adoptive son, why doesn't Kobayashi set the camera DOWN? It would have been an immense help to have both hands available during that scene.
  • And for some strange reason, Kobayashi has the strength to leap to the camera, never mind the fact that he could've used what strength he had to try to save his wife.
• Squick: Junko Ishii taking aborted fetuses from the clinic she worked in and later feeding them to Kana. While we never actually see that, it's still sickening.
• The Woobie:
  • Marika, considering she was just at the wrong place at the wrong time and got dragged into the mess. When she learns her upstairs neighbor killed herself due to the curse's influence, it leaves her shaken.
  • Hori - he does everything he can to help, but he has No Social Skills, and ultimately lacked his critical Tinfoil Hat when actually confronting Kagutaba, which meant the Demon could target him directly.
