YMMV / Neuroshima

  • Cliché Storm: The game intentionally invokes this in art design, writing style and of course the setting itself.
  • Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game: Due to the lack of any post-apocalyptic game on the Polish market at the time, people swarmed to it predominantly due to the setting. The game mechanics quickly drove most people back thanks to their almost absurd complexity and lack of any coherence. After expansions stopped being published and the setting itself was left obviously unfinished, the player base almost ceased to exist. Fan Works focus almost exclusively on the setting, completely ignoring mechanical elements.
  • Narm Charm: The chief draw of the game nowadays, ca. 20 years after its creation, tends to be some mix of nostalgia and just going along with the stupidity.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Among other things, the character creation process involved a randomly rolled ailment at the very end of the process - so you could create your character as a road warrior and then discover he has a brittle bone disease.
