* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Certain elements of the setting are so insane and ignorant of any form of reality it can only be assumed they were created while piss-drunk. Reading through the setting's lore while sober can be hard to take. Highlights include: dense jungle growing in the middle of the desert, adult people living with a condition causing them to sweat acid in a world with no medical care, New York not being a prime or even secondary target of nuclear attack, ''European nobles'' coming to the post-war States and establishing a feudal confederation in the DeepSouth, with slaves mining coal... The list can go on for quite a while.

* BetterThanCanon: The fan expansion ''OÅ‚ów'' ("Lead") is highly regarded for its gritty, no-nonsense approach to both the mechanics and the setting of the game. In particular regarding the latter, it just gets rid of many of the sillier parts which fans often found grating. (On mechanical side, the opinions on "Lead" are more mixed, as its very exhaustive and deadly rules are not to everyone's taste, and in the eyes of almost the entire fandom, any house rules are better than canon anyway.)

Removing Flame Bait

* UnfortunateImplications: The base had its share of, shall we say, questionable language regarding American racial issues. Those in a forgiving mood see it as merely yet another result of the authors' cluelessness about life in the United States.

* NarmCharm: The chief draw of the game nowadays, ca. 20 years after its creation, tends to be some mix of nostalgia and just going along with the stupidity.

* ScrappyMechanic: among other things, the character creation process involved a randomly rolled ailment at the very end of the process - so you could create your character as a road warrior and then discover he has a brittle bone disease.

* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: Due to the lack of any post-apocalyptic game on the Polish market, people swarmed to it predominately due to the setting. The game mechanics quickly drove most people aback thanks to their almost absurd complexity and lack of any coherence. After expansions stopped being published and the setting itself became obviously unfinished, the player base almost cease to exist. {{Fan Work}}s focus almost exclusively on the setting, completely ignoring mechanical elements.
