  • Fan Nickname:
    • "TakadaGod" for Takada. Variations of "rizzmaster" and "rizz lord" are also common, and more rarely "Chadkada" (as in the Virgin vs. Chad meme)
    • "Tank Top-kun" for Hino.
  • Heartwarming Moments: In Episode 5, since Takada learned in the last episode that Nishimura's mother died giving birth to her, he concludes that the nickname "Grim Reaper" is a cruel nickname, and so decides to stop calling her it. When she learns this, Nishimura reassures him that she didn't find it cruel coming from him, and thinks her mother would be happy that she has such a good friend in Takada. She then outright asks him to keep calling her "Grim Reaper," because it makes her happy.
  • Memetic Badass: Takada is held as the ultimate social person thanks to his ability to disrupt bullying and bombard his love interest with romanticism without even noticing.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Jokes about the series being related or connected to Watamote were usual at the anime's announcement due to the general similarities, with Nishimura herself looking like a young version of Tomoko down to the clothing. It came to the extent that some people actually mistook it for a Watamote reboot or prequel of some kind.
    • My Clueless First Boyfriend / My Clueless HusbandExplanation

  • The Woobie: Akane at the start of the series, a shy young girl without friends who is mercilessly bullied in school due to her somber appearance and introvert nature.
