YMMV / Musical Touken Ranbu Kousui Sanka No Yuki

Go To

  • Designated Hero: Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, of the reckless leader variety. He knew the era was doomed from the start due to a mistake made by Ookanehira's team, so the Saniwa sent him and Hizen Tadahiro to inform Ookanehira's team and bring them back. However, in order to teach them and help them learn from their mistakes, he waited until the last possible moment to inform the team of what was going on, and didn't even have an escape plan for when the Government of Time began to cut off the timeline from the rest of history, which nearly resulted in everyone being trapped in the abandoned world with a swarm of murderous zombies had the Historical Revisionists not had a momentary change of heart and helped them hold open the gate. Despite this, the audience is meant sympathize with him because he planned to sacrifice himself for the team to be with his fallen teammate, and he ends up being Easily Forgiven by everyone in the end.
  • Fridge Logic: Yamanbagiri Kunihiro plagiarized several Ukiyo-e paintings and even planned to sell a plagiarized copy of Nansō Satomi Hakkenden to earn money in the era. It's played for laughs all the way through, especially since he couldn't make much money from the Ukiyo-e paintings in particular. That being said, why wasn't anyone worried about the ramifications of him selling books and releasing paintings that hadn't even been written about yet? History in that era was doomed regardless, but the characters didn't realize that until nearly the end of the play.
  • Inferred Holocaust: The play and subsequent plays seem to gloss over the unfortunate consequences of the abandoned world created by Ookanehira's team's mistake, in which a million of zombified people will most likely continue to shamble around for eternity, unable to live out the remainder of their original lives. Sure, the Government of Time was able to replace it with the correct version of history, in which Li Naosuke dies as historically intended, but what about those people?
