• Memetic Mutation: Aiden being voiced by Dante Basco cued many fans to quote various lines from Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
• So Okay, It's Average: The general consensus is that the movie is inoffensive on its own and is definitely a step in the right direction when compared to the notorious live-action film, but allots nowhere near enough time for the material it attempts to cover and suffers from feeling quite rushed as a result.
• Tainted by the Preview: Viewers noted that the animation and CGI looked fairly cheap for a Netflix movie, akin to a pre-rendered cutscene from a PlayStation 2 game rather than something big budget. Some are willing to overlook this just for a more faithful movie than the live-action film, though.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Many fans were under the impression that Legends of the Guild would be a series and not a movie, so the confirmation that it's a standalone movie upset fans who were hoping for a longer anthology series about the Monster Hunter world and/or Aiden's adventures with the Ace Hunters.
• Win Back the Crowd: Legends of the Guild being set in the universe of the games and building on established characters with faithful representations of the Monster Hunter world was met with high praise in the wake of the infamous Monster Hunter (2020) live-action movie, which turned off many Monster Hunter fans due to its heavily divergent plot.
