• Anti-Climax Boss: An important plot point in season one was that they couldn't kill Zane without great political consequences. But when Zane goes missing for years at the end of season one, nothing much happens, and even when he's killed by Aaron in season two there also no major consequences.
• Cargo Ship: Tablemau, the ship between Aphmau and the table she joked about being in love with.
• Ho Yay: Minecraft Diaries has a lot of this.
  • Katelyn and Aphmau have an incredibly close, devoted relationship that receives a lot of plot focus. In one episode Katelyn jokes about the idea of being in love with Aphmau, and at another point she compares Aphmau to Jeffory, who she used to be in love with.
  • Aphmau being bi is a common fan interpretation, since she has also has many other moments that seem less than straight. For example in season one, when she sees Cadenza a s human for the first time she immediately exclaims how pretty she is.
  • Garroth and Laurance are both in love with Aphmau, but also hold strong (if somewhat complicated) feelings for each other. In season 2 Laurance is as devoted to the idea of rescuing Garroth as Aphmau is. There's definitely a a reason so many fans ship them together.
• Strangled by the Red String: Some people see Aaron and Aphmau's relationship that way, since when they got together she'd had many more romantic moments with her other love interests than with him. Since we don't even see them get together, and only find out they were a thing she it turns out she's pregnant with his child the exact timeline of their relationship is unclear.
