• Accidental Aesop: You have to keep moving forward in your life no matter what happens. Just ask Luz who is trying to move on from her time as Oscura despite still hearing her voice in her head sometimes, or Willow who has been trying to move past her crush on Luz but has been struggling to do so.
  • Boscha takes this to a level of psychotic when she tries to take Amity by force and still wants to kill Luz for what happened four years ago.
• Catharsis Factor: Odalia’s fate. She, like everyone else killed during Oscura’s reign, is brought back by Luz’ first wish. She finds her family has moved on, Edric and Emira are running Blight Industries with Alador consulting, and the Blights are overall better off without her. Alador gives her a seriously satisfying "Reason You Suck" Speech and makes it clear that Odalia is still dead to them despite being alive again. She’s left with absolutely nothing but the clothes on her back. And when she gets her chance to compete in the DGP, she pretty much squanders it by trying to get revenge on Luz and not even making it past her first round. Not only does Odalia forget the objective of the round the very second they start, but every shot she lands on Luz just deducts any points she would have had. Suffice to say it’s more than a little cathartic to see her go through this.
• Harsher in Hindsight: A big part of Luz's internal conflict is about how she struggles to not lose herself to her inner darkness, even when her family is put in danger by the DGP. Two months after this fic started, Kamen Rider Geats would have an arc where Keiwa's sister is killed, causing the once idealistic Rider to snap and go down his own path of darkness, much like Luz feared would happen to her again.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The very premise of this fic putting Luz in a similar role to Ace is this, as after this fic was first published, both Luz and Ace would end up meeting a god towards the end of their respective shows and gaining a form from them relinquishing the rest of their power to them.
• Nightmare Fuel: When Luz catches Jacob during the manhunt. When Luz gets to him, he’s trying to go after Vee again with intent to kill just like the first time. Luz is filled with such dark fury that she essentially ties him to the floor with dark root, prepares to brutally kill him all while Oscura’s inner voice eggs her on. Things only get more intense when Masha/Kurma catches up to them, unlocks their fantasy form and gives Jacob such a brutal beatdown that even Luz is caught off guard. Soon enough Masha is poised to kill the delusional conspiracy theorist but thankfully Luz manages to stop them from making the same mistake she did.
