** For many American fans, their earliest frame of reference for a ''Magazine/ShonenJump'' crossover fighting game is ''Battle Stadium D.O.N.'' for the UsefulNotes/PlayStation2, which is a crossover between ''Anime/DragonBallZ'', ''Manga/OnePiece'', and ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' specifically, hence the ''D.O.N.'' in the title, but ''Shonen Jump'' crossover games have existed since ''Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden'' on [[UsefulNotes/NintendoEntertainmentSystem the original Famicom]].

** Racist Deku [[labelnote:Explanation]]A joke that started after an interaction surfaced where Deku assumes Piccolo (who, on top of being not human, is often characterized by fans as a black man) of being a villain, which he began as in the original manga before making a HeelFaceTurn. ** There seemed to be a RunningGag in the American fandom where every character announcement is followed up by someone asking where Midoriya and Jotaro are, seemingly hinging whether or not they buy the game on whether or not those two franchises are confirmed or denied for inclusion. ** Special mention goes to Light. Despite becoming well aware that he’s in a multiverse with a chance of godhood right at his fingertips, he doesn’t take it and instead goes after his Death Note still, a weapon that would only effect less than half of the Jump Force. Instead, his only role in the game is to be suspicious, go to Kane (a scene that goes nowhere) and his story ends with him picking up a cube, setting up an obvious sequel hook, which so far only has one follow-up cutscene between him and Aizen; the latter easily deduces what he’s up to. In short, he does surprisingly so little in the story he could have been cut from the game entirely.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: There's pretty much no reason for there to not be a stage revolving around Cairo, given it's both a real-world location ''and'' the location of a major story arc in ''Jump'' (specifically the final battle of ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders''), whereas the other stages seem to only incorporate one or the other. It would probably be one of the most fitting stages to include in the game, and could even feature DIO's Mansion in the background (like LA does for U.A. High School or New Zealand does for the Black Whale)... and it's just not there. Ditto for Rome (featuring the final battle of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind''), though this is slightly mitigated by Giorno being DLC-only.

Uncanny Valley is IUEO now and the subjective version has been split; cleaning up misuse and ZCE in the process

** "[=UE4=] fan project" [[labelnote:Explanation]]A ''very'' common criticism often made regarding the game's UncannyValley graphics and artstyle is to compare it to a variety of fan projects that try to recreate games in Unreal Engine 4, particularly those based on ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' and ''VideoGame/SuperMario64''. ** The design of the FinalBoss, [[spoiler:Prometheus]], has been called laughably lazy by many in the community. The character looks like an adult [[Anime/DragonBallZ Kid Buu]] but in blue and wings, and [[UncannyValley adding the ugly in-game model]] and monotone voice acting it makes the character not interesting to look at. By comparison, while [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Jiren]] (another character designed by Creator/AkiraToriyama) was thought to be lazily designed too by many members of the community, he at least appeared in [[SugarWiki/AwesomeArt well regarded episodes of the series drawn by the top talents of the show]] like [[CreatorWorship Yuya Takahashi or Naoki Tate]], which ''Jump Force''[='=]s FinalBoss doesn't have.

* UncannyValley:
** The 3D textures have received mixed reviews from people on the web, calling them too realistic for the cartoony characters' designs, similar to what happened to ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl''. Early screenshots of the game, and character reveals for characters like Gon, Hisoka, and Yugi also got similar reactions, particularly for the latter who seemed rushed until his character reveal trailer. Comparisons with ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcomInfinite'' were quick to follow. When the actual game was released, the puppet-like designs were called out even more. Considering these series tend to thrive in games with stylized cel-shaded 3D visuals that try to properly emulate the look of (or at least the spirit of) the original manga titles such as ''VideoGame/DragonballFighterz'', ''VideoGame/NarutoUltimateNinjaStorm'' and ''[[VideoGame/OnePieceWorldSeeker One Piece: World Seeker]]'', the decision to use "realistic" visuals comes off as a bizarre decision, and the apparent lack of time and budget makes that decision seem even more baffling, as a more stylized approach would have looked significantly better overall.
** The characters from ''Dragon Ball'' were hit particularly hard by this. While the [[OnlySixFaces lack of relative variation in faces]] is forgivable within the context of Toriyama's fluid and expressive drawing style, it very much ''does not'' work in this approach to 3D (see ''[=FighterZ=]'' or the earlier ''[[VideoGame/DragonBallZBudokai Budokai]]'' games for examples of how ''Dragon Ball'' in 3D can be done very much right), especially when placed alongside reps from franchises like ''One Piece'' or ''MHA'' who have [[CastOfSnowflakes much greater variety in their character designs]]. It's not so much that the characters don't have realistic or convincing expressions as it is that all of them only have ''[[DullSurprise one]]'' [[DullSurprise expression]]. Though, really, "only one expression" is a problem ''everyone in the game has''.
** The worst offenders would have to be the ''One Piece'' characters like Luffy. Like the characters from ''Dragon Ball'', their expressive and cartoony expressions don't work with this approach to 3D (see ''World Seeker'' for, again, a vastly superior take on ''One Piece'' in 3D). Their default expressions make them look [[SlasherSmile psycho]][[PsychoticSmirk tic]]. Blackbeard gets the worst of it because his mouth is ''constantly open'', and while it moves a bit when he speaks, ''it never closes'', making him look robotic.
** Special mention goes to Toguro's transformation, looking way more creepy in realistic animation than he is in the original ''Manga/YuYuHakusho'' anime and manga.
** The story mode cutscenes look unpolished and puppet-like, with comparison with ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' (and keep in mind that game was ''[[TroubledProduction rushed]]'' and [[SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome has good cutscenes when not relying on the in-game models]]) and ''WesternAnimation/{{Foodfight}}'', with [[https://twitter.com/Swaps4/status/1096001358497366016 some]] [[https://twitter.com/Somecallmejon/status/1095396430758457344 of]] [[https://twitter.com/ValorRippr/status/1095396859173064706 questionable]] quality.

Ditto for Rome (featuring the final battle of ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureVentoAureo''), though this is slightly mitigated by Giorno being DLC-only.
