YMMV / JubyPhonic

Go To

  • Les Yay: With fellow singer rachie with their romantic duets together (not about each other, but it doesn't seem to matter). It's reached the point where RachiePhonic has it's own fanfiction. Made even worse during their New Year's Holy Quintet video, where rachie introduces herself as Juby's girlfriend (to Juby's horror and quick denial). This gets heavily parodied in their Magnet cover.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: Even with the darker subjects of certain covers, the incredibly upbeat instrumentals, Juliet's naturally high singing voice, and Genki Girl approach makes most of her channel's catalogue intensely happy. It's part of the appeal.
  • Woolseyism:
    • Majority of her songs have English lyrics that more or less have the same meaning as the original while also flowing with the song well, but one notable example is in her cover of Luka Luka★Night Fever. The start of the second verse in the original version was "omokute mirenai hi aniki ni tsurareta hi" which roughly translates to "On a day when Nicovideo is too laggy, on a day you end up watching a ANIKI nicovideo". A general American audience wouldn't know what the ANIKI meme is, so her cover version is "or you're finding a meme you don't know".
    • The Kagerou Project song Outer Science included a line roughly translating to "You're inside my womb", which is infamous among the series' fanbase for being more ridiculous than scary. Juby's version of the song uses "You're in the belly of the beast", which not only sounds creepier and fits the song's role in the story, but keeps the Evil Is Visceral vibe of the original line.
