• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Ross asking Skid where his mom went is just him wondering why Lila would let him hang around a lemon-headed weirdo — however, with the later introduction of Ross' mother Jaune and her close friendship with Lila, it can instead come across as Ross asking for Lila because his mom is worried about her.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The Happy Fella that appears in the fic is the complete opposite of the one that appears in the later-released "Deadly Smiles": "Todd" is near silent, only moves when out of someone's view, and prefers to just mess with Monster and Skid, only trying to kill them when Monster throws him out and Pump tells the truth. The Happy Fella in "Deadly Smiles", meanwhile, is extremely loud, doesn't care if anyone sees him move, and exclusively tries to kill people with little rhyme or reason to his planning. In addition, Todd latches onto Pump as his "friend", while the Happy Fella wants nothing to do with him or Skid.
  • Roy instantly acting like a stuck-up rich person after getting a gold watch from Garcello's safe deposit box is made all the funnier after "Tender Treats" reveals he comes from a high-class family — in particular, his mother Carmen is incredibly snooty and wears a lot of gold jewelry.
  • When Skid and Pump get Little Man to channel their rage through something else, Little Man draws a picture of a giant Little Man destroying a burning city. The later released Little Man 2 ends with Little Man actually turning into a giant and destroying his own house.
• Moment of Awesome: In chapter 2, Monster manages to save Skid and Pump from a kidnapper's van, also causing it to crash into a brick wall. When he notices the kidnapper stumble out of the wreckage, he quietly excuses himself to finish the job.
  Kidnapper: "...Is that you god?"
  Monster: "No."
  (Monster then crushes the kidnapper's head with a chunk of rubble, killing him.)
