Hikami's interactions with Ryou are touching and sweet, and they quickly establish a mostly healthy relationship where they support each other, unlike Ryou's relationship with Kusora, where he must always pay attention to not step in a landmine that can kill him. On the flip side, some fans think that Kusora being a Mood-Swinger constantly switching between Tsundere and Yandere makes her a much more interesting Love Interest, as it's hard to predict how her relationship with Ryou will turn out, contrasting with how Hikami is "conquered" and already smitten with Ryou by the end of her introductory arc.
