- Awesome Music: Richard Bellis' score for the attraction, which not only perfectly replicates John Williams' music from the first three films, but also splices different segments of them together to sync up to every moment of the ride.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Tokyo DisneySea's version of the attraction is titled The Temple of the Crystal Skull and revolves around a crystal skull. No, it is not a tie-in attraction to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as it coincidentally predates it by seven years.
- Special Effects Failure:
- Mara hitting the ceiling with a laser used to cause rubble made of stained ice to fall into the lava pit. If you look on Google Maps, the hut on the roof that houses the ice machine is still there.
- The blow-dart hallway's use of blacklight paintings of Skeleton Warriors feels like they just ran out of money near the end, as does a spooky spirit that appears on the ceiling when you go behind the giant Mara head in the central chamber.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The projections in the Chamber of Destiny. Each reward has its own hallway, and the idol has a different reaction to looking into its eyes.
