• Heartwarming Moments:
  • The ending of Episode 8 had a lot of viewers feeling po-warm. Happy birthday, Nanako!
  • Episode 12 combines this and Tear Jerker when everyone has to go back to their separate universes, but they're grateful for all of the fun times that they shared.
  Nanako: Danke. Grazie. Merci. Xie Xie. Arigatou.
• Ho Yay: Mostly between Subaru and Aoi. Doesn't get helped even by the stereotype Subaru vehicles were labelled as "lesbian cars".
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: People sometimes wonder if this will actually sell Subaru cars or even the Initial D manga to the Otaku. Others think that this is a good series that should pick up full production in which, is already done.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: Minato. It's easy to mistake him for a girl because of his voice.
