YMMV / Gormiti: Nature Unleashed

Go To

  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: May cross with Hilarious in Hindsight, but the Princes conclude that they must learn to accept fire as one of their own, rather than reject the element and tribe as a whole like it's irredeemably evil. Come the 2018 show, and the protagonist himself is a heroic fire boy, breaking the franchise staple of fire as an enemy tribe.
  • Ho Yay: A somewhat predictable result for a show with only one female character present occasionally. Mostly between Noctis and Agrom due to them knowing one another for a little longer than the others did, but the Princes pretty much have many dynamics:
    • Agrom and Noctis get one moment during "The Face in the Sand". They banter back and forth in good heart, Noctis noting this would be the start of a beautiful friendship. Given they're already friends by that point, it's no secret they're both enjoying their argument the way an old couple would.
    • Agrom and Piron often have a similar but quieter dynamic that boils down to the former giving a well-meaning yet reckless idea and the latter trying to politely and calmly (and often unsuccessfully) damage filter his antics as a concerned spouse would.
    • Noctis and Tasaru very often bicker about things the way an irresponsible spouse in an odd couple would with a neurotic one.
      • In general, it's not impossible to even ship all four princes together into an OT4, given all their mutual differences, constant arguings, fights and resulting bonds of friendship could very easily fall into Slap-Slap-Kiss in a warrior world like theirs.
  • Narm: The dialogues often feel very stilted, sometimes with awkward pauses between characters talking and scenes changing and their tone is often very ambiguous-sounding, not exactly the entertaining way.
    • Narm Charm: The Princes' occasional inflictions and "huh?!" exclamations do feel pretty realistic and amusing to some, especially given the often bizarre nature of the setting.
  • Special Effects Failure: The backgrounds being obviously 2D during some scenes, the lighting of some scenes not giving the already uncanny models a good look, the character models moving unnaturally slow, the list goes on...
