  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: The Bland-Name Product for Eurovision in the episode is called "Eurosong". In 1996, the actual Eurovision was renamed "Eurosong", until reverting to its original name in 1997.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • If Ireland really had hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 and gotten 'nul points' like they do in this episode, they would have been the first Eurovision host to do so. That accolade actually belongs to Austria, which made the dubious achivement in 2015, nearly two decades after this episode aired.
    • As mentioned above, Eurovision being called "Eurosong" in 1996.
