• Ass Pull: Brian effortlessly gets a job in this episode (in order to pay his rent). Yet, in the previous episode (where the Story Arc of Brian being kicked out of the Griffin's house began), he mentioned that nobody would hire him because of what happened. Even worse, Stewie pointed out that Brian couldn't get a job before the incident, let alone after it.
• Broken Base: This episode continues the plotline from "The D in Apartment 23" of Brian living on his own after being kicked out of the Griffin household, and it once again forces the question of "Does this plot really deserve to be more than a single episode?". It doesn't help that both the supporters and detractors of the idea are in agreement that the continuation as shown here was worse than what was shown in the previous one. It could also argue that its inclusion here where it's only a subplot could've been cut altogether, and the episode would've been better off for it.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Three times, actually. When Martha rejects Brian as a romantic partner, Brian just gets on his work computer to look for photos of her on Facebook to masturbate to. Since her page is closed to the public, he looks for pictures of her from her mother's page and masturbates. Martha, who had simply been playing hard to get, decides to come back to Brian, only to find Brian masturbating to a photo of her with her mother while at her grandfather's funeral. Even after that, she soon comes to see Brian's actions as a form of "flattery" and decides to give him yet another chance right before she finds out he had her framed for drug possession.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Some people who hate "The D in Apartment 23" story arc would like to pretend that this episode never happened along with the original "The D in Apartment 23" episode and "Crimes and Meg's Demeanor".
• Hilarious in Hindsight: While in Russia, Peter mentions that all of the women there are "nothing but 10s and 1s". A later episode would have Meg visit Russia and choose to stay there because they consider her an "8".
