YMMV / Ennead

Go To

  • Incest Yay Shipping: Difficult not to, considering it is a comic about Egyptian mythology and every single character is related, and marriages between siblings is the norm. The most prevalent ships in the fandom are Seth/Horus (who are uncle and nephew) and Osiris/Seth (who are brothers). Nephthys/Isis (sisters) has a fair following as well.
  • It Was His Sled: It is common for those who encounter Ennead to be aware of Osiris’ motives and Seth’s past before reading the story.
  • Narm:
    • This series runs on melodrama, secrets, plot twists, and lots of Very Pretty People. Sometimes the absurdity reaches critical levels to elicit an unintended reaction in the audience, such as:
    • Eyerolling as Isis becomes increasingly unhinged towards the end of season 1, especially as she continues to try and protect Osiris' reputation despite him pretty much being the cause of everyone's problems.
    • Giggling when Anubis mistakes Seth for a lover he doesn't remember and kisses him, making him the third person from Osiris' bloodline to try and put the moves on Seth despite being raised as Seth's son. Anubis, to his credit, doesn't seem interested in pursuing the matter once informed that no, he and Seth don't have that kind of relationship.
  • The Woobie: Anubis definitely qualifies. His family breaks apart before him, his father viciously beats him, thinking he was Osiris, and he's stuck in a body that doesn't grow. Season 2 has it get worse when Anubis looses most of his memories by what is strongly implied to be manipulation from Osiris, and doesn't remember that Seth raised him.
