- Adored by the Network: Both ICTV and NTV show multiple reruns of the show, since it is the most popular series for both networks. And even reruns usually get good ratings!
- Base-Breaking Character: Lena. Some fans see her as kind woman, good wife and friend. Others think that she is cold, manipulative and not being able to love anybody. The fact that she left her former husband for his best friend doesn't help.
- Breakout Character: IGOR GNEZDILOV. He wasn't the main focus of the show before flanderizing him as a complete moron, which actually helped both show and character. Of course, it couldn't be possible without a really stellar performance by Mikhail Zhonin.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Gnezdilov teases Lena in "Painted in Oil" about having double surname "Maximova-Leonidova" for both ex and husband (since it turns out that she still has surname "Maximova", even after the divorce). It was rude, and he was punched by both Max and Lyosha. But there is some truth in it, since Lena is shown to be still loving Max (and it is clearly visible).
- Just Here for Godzilla: For many fans, Dog is a series about Gnezdilov's antics. AS described above, it became one of the main (if not THE main) focuses for screenwriters.
- Unpopular Popular Character: Gnezdilov is disliked (if not outright hated) by all characters. He's very popular among fans (mainly as comic relief with funny one-liners.)
