• Unintentional Period Piece: Outside of the obvious with cars and fashion of The '70s, it's pretty jarring for 21st century French people to hear Commissioner Grimaud complaining about a croissant costing 1 franc and 30 centimes back in 1979. France has adopted the euro between 1999 and 2002, and inflation made a croissant cost about five times this sum nowadays when converted to euros.
