YMMV / Charmed S8E11 Mr. And Mrs. Witch

  • Alternate Aesop Interpretation: While the Aesop is ostensibly for the Jenkins parents to allow their other daughter to grieve with them and not shield her from her past traumas, another one could be for children to learn that their parents are flawed and have to deal with grief and loss in their own ways, and shouldn't be judged for how they cope.
  • Genius Bonus: For anyone who knows genetics, the episode is actually quite apt with how it applies a fantasy element to real life genes. It's revealed that Billie's grandmother was a witch, and Helen says it must have skipped a generation in regards to her. What we call skipping a generation is in actuality just the genes not being expressed phenotypically; so the gene is still buried away in there. And some genes that skip generations are actually mutations carried on the X chromosome, so it's possibly a defect in Billie's grandfather that prevented Helen from inheriting powers. But as she still had the genes, Billie and Christy were able to inherit magic.
  • Hollywood Homely: Carl and Helen are dressed down, the latter especially in a matronly dress and flat hair, so that they can look more striking once turned into assassins. In the final scene, Barbara Niven is given normal hair and make-up and a flattering outfit to show she's feeling better.
  • Narm: Billie turns her parents into assassins by calling them that as a supposed "figure of speech", which it actually isn't, and sounds incredibly forced. It's such an oddly specific thing to call them that she almost has no business being surprised when it happens.
  • She Really Can Act: Kaley Cuoco definitely brings it for Billie's "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight.
