• Awesome Music: Lord Licorice's Villain Song "Licorice Land" has gotten a lot of fan fare for being oddly catchy.
• Jerkass Woobie: Lord Licorice can come off as one, since it's hinted that nobody likes licorice and he is considered an outcast as a result.
• Memetic Molester: The way Mr. Mint pretty much invites himself along on Jib's journey raises some red flags, as does the scene where he gets Jib to take a shortcut through Licorice Forest.
• Rooting for the Empire: Some viewers find Lord Licorice more enjoyable and likable than the main heroes.
