YMMV / Battlestar Galactica Deadlock

  • Anticlimax Boss: Clothos in the penultimate mission of the Armistice campaign fields....a vanilla Basestar instead of an Argos or Cratus.
  • Goddamned Bats: Just about any Cylon ship capable of hacking, but the Nemesis corvette fits this trope the most, being the smallest Cylon warship in the game. As part of a larger fleet, it can become a severe distraction, hacking your ships while you try to focus on bigger threats. Even on its own, it will almost definitely manage to fire off at least one missile volley before you can take it down.
  • Growing the Beard: While most agree the gameplay has been solid since launch, the general consensus was that the base campaign's story, on its own, was a disjointed mess with few plot threads resolved, if any. Knowing the backstory from the TV series didn't help much. However, the "Broken Alliance" DLC alleviated this to an extent, and future expansions showed a vast improvement in writing.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Doc Cottle's appearance in the game ends late in the "Resurrection" DLC with Commander Nash wishing him well and assuring him that he'll always have a place on Galactica. Cottle thanks him but emphatically has no plans on returning, ever.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: A lot of people are interested in the game primarily for its contributions to the lore of Battlestar Galactica (2003), as the First Cylon War, despite being the setting of Blood and Chrome and parts of Razor, has had little depiction despite taking place over the course of more than a decade.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: Most reviews agree on the fact that it is a perfectly serviceable strategy game with a good use of the license in its creation of visuals.
