• Harsher in Hindsight: Bats being a menace to human society? Uh...hello there, COVID-19 Pandemic, 20 years later...
• Narm: Any of the scenes with the rubber bats attacking people. It's next to impossible not to start laughing at how fake they look, even for 1999.
• Nausea Fuel: The bat-guano scene. It can't be said enough how utterly disgusting it would be to have to wade through that much guano.
• Special Effects Failure: It's got all the makings of a bad 1990s horror film, but the bats themselves are liable to send the audience into hysterics. When they're not in a big CGI cloud, the bats are rubber toys that jiggle around and are about as convincing as the puppets from Hobgoblins. One would have to have chiroptophobia in order to find them scary.
• Squick: The scene where they enter the cave and have to wade through waist high levels of bat guano. It is exactly as disgusting as it sounds and it's a wonder they don't vomit everywhere as a result.
