• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Franklin spending the whole episode being told he should give up and die, only to end up declaring he wants to live his whole life, is all the harder to watch with Richard Biggs being the first major cast member to die at just 44.
  • The scene where Zack advises Garibaldi on how to handle Dr. Franklin's drug issues becomes this when you consider that Jeff Conaway had a relapse in the mid-2000s, and eventually died of pneumonia that was exacerbated by his use of opiates. Jerry Doyle would also die in 2016 as a result of his previous alcoholism.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Rather than the usual split screen, the two Franklins seamlessly enter each other's section of the frame in a very impressive effect for the time.
