• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The game had some presence in Spain and Italy, two countries that (unsurprisingly) love ancient history.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Wedjahor's shouts about "beasts in human form!" were originally innocuous in Spain at the time the game was released there. However, in 2018, when Catalonian independence leader Quim Torra made a series of racist remarks against non-Catalonian Spaniards using those very words, the bitter joke was not lost to players of the game.
• Just Here for Godzilla: The game's naval battles are typically extolled in most reviews, and that despite the fact that the developers didn't fully finish this feature (they had also apparently planned to make it possible to board and capture ships).
• Narm:
  • Meritaton can be seen by the player while Inaros monologues about Egypt's misfortune. The scene is meant to be evocative, but the fact that she is wearing a weird, see-through Vapor Wear top that shows clearly her nipples kills all the seriousness.
  • Wedjahor randomly throwing fire from his mask in midst of a meeting of chieftains, all just in order to make a hammy point. Have in mind that this is a special offensive ability used by his character class, which means Wedjahor did basically the equivalent of firing a gun in a board of directors.
  • Speaking of Wedjahor, his taunting line about how he is "more intelligent" that Inaros so insanely childish that it cannot be taken seriously in context.
