- Fridge Logic: The chromosomes making up his genetic paterial, um, material are chemically unconnected with the genetic material of the rest of human — or the rest of life in general. How did he ever manage to look human?
- In more than one instance, the convoluted Stable Time Loop that forms the protagonist's life requires their past self to not recognize their future self. That can only happen if the future self is able to "blend in" with ordinary humans.
