• And You Thought It Would Fail: Fans were alarmed when it was announced that the 2012 remake would be getting a dub, since the last time a BL anime was given an English dub, it was a complete disaster. However, those who got to listen to the dub after it came out agree that the performances of the cast, as well as the script, was very much solid — which is a rare compliment that an English dub of any Boys' Love adaptation would receive.
• Angel/Devil Shipping: Many fanfic writers like to portray Riki as an innocent being who was seduced by the evil and depraved Iason Mink, when Riki is not what one would call innocent.
• It Was His Sled: The ending is a Twist Ending but due to the popularity of the first OVA series, the ending is better known than the actual details and dynamics of Riki and Iason's relationship and how things got to that point.
• Moral Event Horizon:
  • Kirie intentionally crossed it when he sold out Guy, and the entire fandom acknowledges that Kirie definitely stepped over the line with this act.
  • On the other hand, however, cannot reach a unanimous agreement about whether Guy did so as well when he decided to give Riki a penectomy to remove the Pet ring.
• Visual Effects of Awesome:
  • The first OVA series boasted impressive visuals, especially when considering that it was made in the 90s.
  • Likewise, the second (and sadly short-lived) OVA series does not shy away from the visuals department, with every bit of scenery — both static and dynamic — truly breathing life into the world of Amoi.
