  • Crosses the Line Twice: Frequently, particularly with any character played by John Sparkes.
  • Ho Yay: Oh so much with Don & George
"What will we do if we want to take a bath?"
"What we normally do. You take the tap end and I..."
(To the audience) "Don't listen to him, he's lying"
  • Tear Jerker: "Embarrassment", despite being catchy as hell and having some funny lyrics, is a surprisingly bleak, brutal song about a family choosing to reject their own daughter because she got knocked up by a black man, though the song never directly refers to it, creating an accurate sense that they've kicked her out for no reason whatsoever. It's heartrending to imagine yourself in the protagonist's shoes. However, it gets infinitely worse when you realise that the song was based on Lee Thompson's own family.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: "Baggy Trousers" mentions caning as a school punishment, which was outlawed in 1987.
