YMMV / Aah! Harimanada

• Base-Breaking Character: Harimanada himself. Most reviews of the series site his personality as hard to like. This is not helped by several of his opponents having much more sympathetic backgrounds and motivations than him. His lack of friends to act as a foil to, and his vague motivations make him come across as one-note character at worst. That said, many commenters find his rebellion in such a strictly traditional setting to be refreshing, especially as the entire sumo world seems to gang up against him.
• Retroactive Recognition: In the animated adaptation, this is one of Akio Ōtsuka's earlier roles as the titular protagonist, before his Star-Making Role as Anavel Gato.
