• Abandon Shipping: In-universe, Chakotay's internal monolog in the chapter based on the Workforce two-parter reveals that while there had been the possibility of something happening between him and Captain Janeway, that the events of Scorpion Part 2 had pretty much killed that.
• Crack Pairing: Arguably the central pairing of this fic could qualify. The characters shared one scene together in the entirety of the series' run, and the point of the scene was that Seven's botched attempt at small talk made Ensign Wildman uncomfortable.
