- The chapter based on the episode Friendship One gets a big one after Chakotay is killed instead of Joe Carey who had been the one killed off in the original in what felt like, to quote SF Debris, a "cruel afterthought". This scene in particular.Captain Janeway: Can I see him?The EMH: I don't think you should.Janeway: This is not the time to pull medical rank with me.The EMH: I'm not telling you this as a doctor. I'm telling you this as your friend. I don't want you, or anyone for that matter, to see him as he is now. If I could, I'd forget too, but we already know what happens when we try to alter my memories like that.
- Part 4 ends with the author dedicating the whole thing to his late father who died in 2016, months before Part 4 was completed.
