Oakie Doke is a stop motion animated show created by Cosgrove Hall in 1995. It aired on CBBC from 7th September 1995 to 17th December 1996. It follows the adventures of an acorn man called Oakie Doke, who likes to help his friends in Oaky Hollows.

Every episode, one of the animals would come to him with a problem or a dilemma and ring the bell at the bottom of his tree. He goes sliding down an enormous slide to meet them. Sometimes the situation is caused by the two mischievious squirrels Dave and Denzil.

Towards the end of each episode, after Oakie had helped solve the problem, he would say: "Well, it's like I always say...", followed by a rhyming phrase. This phrase would be in relation to the solution of the problem. This would then be greeted with approving laughter and applause from whoever was present at the time.

Tropes in this show include:

  • Hiccup Hijinks: The aptly named episode "Oakie Doke And The Hiccups" involves Oakie Doke trying to find a cure for Moses' hiccups after he gets them from drinking some unfinished lemonade.
  • Mad Libs Catch Phrase: "Well, it’s just like I always say...[insert rhyming phrase here]". Oakie would say this at the end of every episode.
  • Meaningful Name: Oakie Doke due to resembling an acorn
