Brute Force is a 2023 Infinity Comics webcomic from Marvel Comics. It's written by Nick Giovannetti and Paul Scheer, with art by G Geoffo and color are by Dee Cunliffe.

Set in the shared Marvel Universe, it's a sequel to the 1990 comic of the same name and stars the titular Brute Force: a squad of cyborg Uplifted Animals, who were created to fight back against humans causing criminal damage to the environment. That was a long time ago, though - their human creator is dead and they're now wanted by the authorities.

All six issues were released at once on July 7, 2023.

Brute Force (2023) provides examples of:

  • Beta Test Baddie: Jojo was one of the first test subjects for the enhancements that later created Brute Force and Heavy Metal. She's not directly angry at her successors - but she's furious that humans saw her as an expendable animal and abandoned her, and her lover Link, to die in orbit.
  • Brain Uploading: Jojo and Link were equipped with chips that would allow their personalities to be uploaded. However, when Jojo tested this after Link's death, it didn't work. Towards the end of the arc, it's revealed that this was just because the computer she tried didn't have the processing power to handle his personality - whereas NASA's newer technology can, and he returns as a Projected Man.
  • Conspicuous Trenchcoat: Boomer and Bear infiltrate the Baxter Building with Bear in a trenchcoat. Partially justified, as civilians seem to assume it's actually the monstrous-looking Thing under the coat and hat, not a normal human. However, even the Human Torch, one of the Thing's teammates, is initially fooled.
  • Distant Prologue: The first issue begins years ago, with the deaths of the space capsule Goliath's crew.
  • Infinite Canvas: As with Marvel's other Infinity Comics, it’s presented in the vertical scrolling variant. Each issue is a single long page, with one column of panels.
  • Recycled Title: As with the original 1990 series, the title is simply Brute Force, without a subtitle.
  • The Stinger: After the "Will Return" Caption, the screen is just black - but readers who keep scrolling down will reach a single panel stinger, which seems to show Multicorp Robotics reviving Dr. Pierce, the team's dead creator.
  • "Will Return" Caption: The final issue (#6) ends with a "Brute Force Will Return!" caption - followed, if readers scroll further down a plain black screen, by The Stinger.
