Sylvania actually is located in the United Kingdom.
Everyone knows that the setting of this toyline is inspired by 1950s England, but as the official account for the Sylvanian Families shop recently posted a picture of Queenie DePembroke officially opening the Baby Amusement Park for a jubilee in the days leading up to the Platinum Jubilee, complete with Sylvanians holding Union Jacks, this could possibly confirm that Sylvania actually is in England.
  • Zig-Zagged: The 90s packaging of the Japanese house sets all claims that Sylvania Village is somewhere in North America, jossing the idea. However a recent story uploaded to the Japanese website also claims that Sylvania Village is located in vicinity of Tokyo, jossing the theory but also jossing the earlier claim of it being in North America. It appears that where Sylvania Village is located depends on the marketer in charge of creating the backstory of the product.
    • So it seems as if the lore of where exactly Sylvania is has been constantly retconned. Or… there could be more than one Sylvania. It's also interesting how apparently according to some marketeers Sylvania is somewhere in Tokyo given that the city itself is very large and heavily urbanized whereas the village is surrounded by nothing but green pastures.

Queen Elizabeth II exists in the Sylvanian Families universe in some form.
Why else wouldn't the Sylvanians prepare to celebrate a Jubilee, according to recent pictures posted by the UK official account for Sylvanian Families? But would Her Majesty be a human or a critter, if looking at both animated series?
  • This troper is guessing, dog. Given that the DePembroke family are dogs and the Chocolate Labrador dog family are also named after royaltynote , there's no other logical conclusion.
