Space Age: A Cosmic Adventure is a Sci-Fi Adventure Game for iOS, released by Big Bucket Software in 2014. It has an 8-bit art style, and takes place in a retro-futuristic version of 1976, as if imagined from the 1940s.

You play as an unnamed Private on Earth's first mission to the distant planet Kepler-16. As you explore the planet, you and your crew encounter hazards, puzzles, and mysteries.

Space Age contains examples of:

  • Flying Saucer: The Proteus-Z is a slightly familiar take on the concept.
  • I Love Nuclear Power: As part of the '40s aesthetic, the characters have a very positive view of radiation, which is both subverted and played straight by the Private being sickened and then super-powered by exposure to Nucleum.
  • Unobtanium: Nucleum is useful for all sorts of technological developments, and also can sometimes grant super-powers.

How well does it match the trope?
