RECORD and RESTORE are your keys to solve each level in this Retraux puzzle platformer.
FILMECHANISM is an indie puzzle platformer game developed by Chemical Pudding and published by Phoenixx Inc. and released on December 15, 2021 for Steam and Nintendo Switch.

"REC" is a new camera/humanoid hybrid robot that has just arrived on a new star system and he must use his wits to navigate through planets in this new system and "record" whatever objects he finds and the layout of the level he creates so he can "restore" the level if he makes a mistake. The main gameplay consists of recording the level of the layout and the actions REC must perform to get through and then playing out the stage afterwards, along with the ability to restore the stage if an error has rendered the level Unintentionally Unwinnable.

This game contains examples of:

  • Retraux: The game has a "four shades of green" pixel art style like the original gameboy.
  • Time Rewind Mechanic: REC can rewind the level with his "Restore" power if he has made a mistake that renders the level unbeatable.
  • Unintentionally Unwinnable: Subverted trope. If a player does not perform actions in the correct order, they will render the stage unwinnable, but it can be undone with RESTORE.
