  • Colbert Bump: The game got a lot of attention among people who aren't in the furry community or are not into the themes ever since SsethTzeentach reviewed it.
  • What Could Have Been: The art book that comes with the Tribal Hunter Soundtrack gleans some light on the game's development as well as some old screenshots shown in the Steam store page:
    • Tribal Hunter originally was going to be a game about a couple of mercenaries, dubbed "Project Mercenary: The Frog Disaster". It was going to be a sidescrolling run-and-gun game (Most likely based off Metal Slug, what with the alternate 'fat' sizes for the characters), but was scrapped for the most part. The only part that remained was the idea of a platformer with size changing mechanics.
    • Originally Munch would have had more than just 5 base sizes, having 13 sizes before it was scaled down to just the 5, but the concept of the in between sizes was moved to the "Oversize" weight stage.
    • Lord Darkdread originally was a slimmer dragon clad in armor that made him look like a knight.
    • Munch's face was fully visible in the concept artwork before it was changed to having it framed in shadow.
    • The UI was slightly different; the icon for Munch's flame ability had a sly grin on the fireball. This got reworked where the grinning fireball is used as a late game skill and is darker while the regular fireball lacks a face. Likewise, early screenshots showed a red potion in the player's active item slot and said potions could also be seen at Key's shop (they're still at the shop in the game). It's likely that these would have been healing potions before it was scrapped or repurposed to be the Popper Potion used to help Munch win the eating contest.
    • The early screenshot of the Falcon Express does not show any fees, implying that To-Ri's services might have been free of charge.
    • The map screen in the old screenshots had a different art style compared to the final version. The old map also had the mountain top a lot shorter in height and it lacked Darkdread's castle.
  • Working Title: The game was going to be called "Tribal Feast" in its early stages of development.
