- Box Office Bomb: Downplayed. Made on a budget of $16 million, returned approximately $18.6 million. Technically a profit, but certainly not a big success.
- Dueling Movies: A four-way contest - squarely lost in terms of general public fame - with The Matrix, Dark City and eXistenZ. Unlike the first, which became the start of a franchise, and the other two, which became cult classics, The Thirteenth Floor was lost in the shuffle and is now widely ignored.
- Prop Recycling: The crew reused the set for Deckard's apartment from Blade Runner for Hall's apartment. The furniture is different, but the patterned wall tiles are unmistakable.
