• Acting for Two: The voice cast isn't a huge team, and many of them are bound to voice several characters in the series.
  • The two co-creators, David Near and Chazz Ravenelle, voice many of the male characters in the series.
  • Bridgette Near voices many female characters in the series, including Sally Hatfield, Erin Adams, and Judy Mason.
• Descended Creator: Both David Near and Chazz Ravenelle voice characters in the series.
• Real-Life Relative: David Near and his sister Bridgette are both voice actors for the series.
• Renamed to Avoid Association: Case #1 was revamped with an expanded story and a new name to the main character. Originally based off of "Ticci Toby" (Tobias Erin Rogers), he was removed to avoid association with his original creator and rewritten as Tobias Adams.
• Fanwork Ban: While the Near siblings are very appreciative of fanart and cosplays of the characters, they have expressly forbidden any animations made of the series because they are planning on making animations of the series in the future.
• Reclusive Artist: The person who voiced Maggie Norris in Case #3 is only referred to by the pseudonym "Star".
• Write What You Know: The series takes place in the fictional small town of Forest Lawn, Michigan. David Near was born and raised in a small town in Michigan, and he wrote many of his own experiences in the story.
• Write Who You Know: The character of Principal Webb was loosely inspired by a real-life school principal David and Bridgette encountered growing up.
