• Dawson Casting: Marco's actor Taylor Zakhar Perez was 28 during filming, a decade older than his character (who is a high school senior).
• The Other Darrin:
  • Mia is portrayed here by Camilla Wolfson, replacing Jessica Sutton from the first film.
  • The Latin dub had some changes.
    • Yaha Lima is replaced by Angélica Villa as Rachel.
    • Joceyln Robles is replaced by Stephanie Gándara as Gwynet.
    • Sofía Huerta is replaced by Fernanda Gastélum as Olivia.
    • Armando Guerrero is replaced by Gustavo Melgarejo as Tuppen.
    • Erika Ugalde is replaced by Cynthia Chong as Vivian.
    • José Luis Miranda is replaced by Roberto Molina as Elle's father.
    • Due to her death, Katalina Múzquiz was replaced by Rommy Mendoza as Noah and Lee's mother.
    • Héctor Miranda is replaced by Dan Osorio as the school principal.
    • Marysol Lobo replaced Derek Mendoza as Brad, but the latter actor reprised the role in the third film.
• Role Reprise: Despite the recast of Jessica Sutton, Marysol Cervantes still voiced Mia in the Latin dub.
