- Follow the Leader: While there were already obvious signs of this going back to The Crew 2 or even The Crew: Wild Run, Motorfest is clearly meant to be Ubisoft's answer to the Forza Horizon series.
- What Could Have Been: This game initially started out as a Downloadable Content expansion for The Crew 2, but Ivory Tower's ideas for changes to the progression structure could not fit within that game's engine, thus necessitating a full-fledged game.
- Working Title: During the game's development, it was internally called "Project Orlando", and the game was tentatively titled The Crew Motorcamp back when it was initially planned as DLC for The Crew 2.
