Trivia / The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids

  • What Could Have Been:
    • In its finished form, Incident Report C300A – “On the Doings of the Decade Stone” features the first appearance of the shapeshifting Vormerschuiving species. However, as revealed in the original unfinished draft for the story posted on the official Tumblr blog, the story was originally going to feature a sentient energy being that could take control of electronic devices, instead.
    • At the end of The Frost King's Treasure, it is revealed that Darius was behind the mysterious invitations sent out across the Multiverse. In earlier drafts of the story, the culprit was going to be either Larrikin, who had crashed his Fog Ship on the mountaintop and sent out the invitations as a prank to alleviate his boredom, or Lord Thymon, who had been accidentally banished to the Frost King's realm by the proliferation of Christmas cheer in the Homeworld and sent out the invitations so others would show up to rescue him.
    • Lethe was originally going to be male, and would have been the leader of a seeming paradise for those who had been erased from existence. It would have been revealed when the Rift Trio tried to leave that the place's apparently-benevolent residents were just as opposed to the idea as the finished story's Guardians.
    • Stranded at Memory's End wasn't going to exist at all - its place in the Rift Saga would have been taken by a story which would see the Rift Trio jumping into the future and meeting a villainous version of the Order of the Automata living in a dystopian dimension.
    • Peace and Quiet almost ended with Lord Thymon, having mistaken Marksmanship for a corpse, trying to resurrect the Cupid, and instead making it so that he would never be able to sleep again.
    • An early idea for A Copper-Colored Christmas Carol would have seen the Cupid Prime visited by the ghost of Governor-105
    • Several alternate names were considered for Zaroff-024, including Razoff, Zoraff, and Turpentine.
    • In the original draft of Arena of the Detraxxi, the Cupids didn't visit the Prime Earth, and didn't meet up with Colonel-028.
